Meditation :

'Meditation' as a word stands highly misunderstood and remains indefinable.
It is usually considered to be reserved for the oldies or for those who can afford luxury. And sometimes even misunderstood as renunciation or a temporary feeling of ecstasy.
Meditation & Relaxation are natural human states and what really needs to be done, is to remove all the obstacles that hamper its manifestation. There are various techniques to initiate 'meditation', but 'meditation' in itself is not a technique.

Why Meditate?

Living a chaotic life is like walking in a lake with muddy water, where you miss seeing all the subtle details of life.
Just as the life and colours below the water appears to be clear when the water is still, life and its patterns appear clearly clearer when the mind is still.
Meditation helps one to see through things and situations and leads one to self-transformation.

What is organic cotton ?

Organic cotton fabric is produced from cotton grown from non-genetically modified plants (non-BT plants). They are cultivated without the use of synthetic fertilizers or pesticides.

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is the standard certification for organic cotton which is certified by institutions on the basis of the farming techniques, processing and dyes used.

This fabric has not touched a single harmful chemical throughout the processing and use of eco-friendly detergents is highly recommended. Infact, if harmful chemicals are used in washing it, its purpose is lost.

What is Buckwheat Hull?

Buckwheat is referred as 'kutty' in hindi. Buckwheat hulls are the husks that protect the kernel within and have been used as a filling for meditation pillows by zen masters.

Buckwheat hull pillows have an ability to perfectly conform to the exact contours of the body. As they allow air to circulate frely, the temperature remains maintained - warm in winter and cool in summer.

The hulls get polished and reduce volume with time and use. The zipper in the pillow allows the user to add/remove hulls as per their preference. The hulls can be sanitized by placing the pillow in sunlight for about two hours.

The hulls are protective shells made of fiber and are nutrient free. They do not attract any kind of fungus or germs.

What is Kapok cotton?

Kapok, also called silk-cotton is a silky fiber that is contained in the fruit of the kapok tree. It is soft, breathable, non-toxic and hypoallergenic.

Being lighter than cotton, buoyant and resistant to saturation by water, kapok has been extensively used as a filler in mattresses, pillows and other furnishings. The first choice of the zen masters.

Also, the kapok tree does not need to be cut down after every harvest. It bears large number of fruits every year and hence is much more sustainable than cotton.

What is GOTS certification?

GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard.

It is recognized as the leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres worldwide. It defines high level environmental criteria along the entire supply chain of organic textiles and requires compliance with social criteria as well.
